Short recap of the last 2 months,

Recycling pays. Found a set of four 32mm Mikuni carbs at the recycling center I took it home and cleaned them up so they open. I have no idea what exactly to do with them, no bike shops in my area seem to know much about UJMs, all leather and H-D. Im thinking I’ll rebuild them for the experience and research more to see if they’d work for a certain 1.7l Renault motor. (speaking of which looking to move some of my extra motors, any renault hoarders out there?)

I’m going to be writing an article comparing a 1996 Impala SS, 2014 Impala LTZ and hopefully a 2016 SS. I’m curious to see how the 3 compare.

Came upon a neglected IS300 with a removed auto transmission. I’m thinking if I can get it for scrap value I can rehab it, stick in a manual (W58) and clean it up for a tidy profit. At the very least the 2JZ will recoup my investment.

And David Bowie? Fuck you cancer.

Update: Also freshening up my dad’s ‘71 Nova. and planning on multiple oppo reviews.

I know somebody with a Renault 1.7, but so far it’s running strong and he hasn’t needed any spares.

I know somebody with a notoriously unreliable mid-2000s Renault 2.0 DCi that has done 183.000 miles at this point in time, but so far it’s been running strong and he hasn’t needed any spares (apart from a new turbo, my step sister is responsible for that).

I don’ t think those carbs will be able to flow enough to feed an engine that large. A quick calculation suggests they’d be good for about 4k rpm on the 1.7l

I could use those carbs if you were willing to let them go

Thanks, I wasn’t thinking they would, but a set of 4 carbs would have been very neat in the europa. Especially free ones!
